Ek Tha Tiger First Day Collection

As expected Salman Khan’s “Ek Tha Tiger” breaks all other previous records. Ek Tha Tiger collected  32.92 crore nett in its opening day which is 11 crores ahead of Agneepath’s 22 crores. The occupancy in every cinema was almost 100% which is a record itself.

Mumbai – 11.48 crore

Delhi/UP – 6.45 crore

East Punjab – 2.76 lakhs

West Bengal – 1.47 crore

Bihar – 45 lakhs

Assam – 5 lakhs
(Most parts of Assam was closed due to a bandh called by a local party)

Orissa – 30 lakhs

CP Berar – 1.61 crore

CI – 1.38 crore

Rajasthan – 1.76 crore

Nizam – 1.62 crore
(some centres in the Maharashtra side of the circuit were closed due to funeral of former Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh)

Mysore – 1.55 crore

TNK – 35 lakhs

TOTAL – 32.92 crore

According to trade analyst Komal Nahata  “The film is brilliant. It is a unique love story and has action of the kind Hindi cinema has never seen. The film will do well in coming weeks.”

Taran Adarsh also a leading trade analyst stated that  “The film looks overall good and the action is great,” he says. “It opened well yesterday, which was a holiday. Though today is a working day, the film has had around 50 per cent occupancy in theatres, which means collections of around Rs 14-15 crore on Day 2. Normally, films make this such only on Sundays.” He also said that it is only Salman’s Dabangg-2 which can break this record and may collect 40 crores in its opening day.

The movie was released in 3300 screens across India and 550 screens overseas. The movie has also earn  good revenue in oberseas, 96,663 pounds (Rs 87 lakh) in UK  and $72,617 (Rs 42.5 lakh) in Australia.

The movie is doing very well in both multiplexes and single screens. Ek Tha TIger will easily cross 100 crore mark before Sunday and may cross 200 crore overall.
